OUR HISTORY

GCH Machinery’s roots go back to 1960, when Grinders Clearinghouse (GCH) was founded in Detroit, Michigan. Grinders Clearinghouse focused on the purchase and sale of grinding machines, eventually branching out into other machine tools. While the company originally targeted the U.S. market, GCH soon began to receive inquiries from companies located outside the U.S. and from foreign affiliates of current U.S. customers. The company became known as “the place to go for grinders.” GCH grew rapidly, moving to larger and larger facilities, increasing headcount, and establishing itself as the leader in the remanufactured grinding machine market worldwide. As the customer base grew, GCH would go on to set up complementary sister companies that would offer spare parts and components, service, control retrofits, new equipment, asset appraisals and liquidation services. Over time, GCH Machinery’s focus migrated toward the design, engineering and build of turnkey grinding solutions, while Grinders Clearinghouse remains the largest stocking dealer of pre-owned precision and tool room grinders in the world.
